ABOUT
My journey in becoming an educational psychologist began with completing a BA Psychology degree in 2007, after which I did an Honours Degree in Psychology. I then went on to complete a Post Graduate certificate in Education in 2011 followed by an Honours and Masters Degree in Educational Psychology. Prior to my career as an educational psychologist, I worked as a registered counsellor at a school for learners with a wide range of barriers to learning.
Working with this diverse group of people I have developed a passion for working with young people and exploring their individual strengths and utilizing these strengths. I believe in each individual I deal with and focus on discovering their unique abilities and characteristics to help them deal with challenges and barriers experienced in different areas of life.
Becoming a mother made me realize that we face a wide range of challenges and can often feel alone and unsure. Hence, I developed a great interest in parental support and the family involvement.
My passion is working with children who experience barriers in every day functioning, including development, learning and mental health. I work from a systemic view and look at the child holistically. With the use of a wide range of therapeutic modalities including creative expressive arts therapy, solution focused therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, etc. I aim to support clients who is experiencing barriers to discovering their own potential.
